StimmunoGuard originates from fungal mycelium and contains relatively high levels of effective β-glucans as well as chitin and also some MOS (mannan oligo-saccharides). It’s efficacy is extensively tested for poultry, swine, fish and shrimp resulting in positive effects on performance for each of these species.
How StimmunoGuard works
When the innate immune system recognizes conserved patterns in the gut; the β-glucans safely engage these receptors to prime immune system cells like macrophages and dendritic cells, improving readiness against pathogens. See schematic illustration how beta-glucans activate the immune system.
To verify the immune stimulating properties in-vitro trials were conducted at Wageningen University. The responses of macrophages, white blood cells that belong to the innate immune system showed macrophage Nitrogen Oxide (NO) production and phagocytosis activity. These can be considered as biomarkers showing that StimmunoGuard stimulates these cells of the immune system.
